Our Year 11 students have been diving into the complex world of food issues this term at their Food Science classes. While many food-related topics can be explored independently, they are often interwoven, creating a web of interconnected challenges and considerations. One of the key questions posed to the students was this: “If cost is the main factor influencing food choices, does nutrition or flavour need to be sacrificed?”
With this question in mind, they were presented with a MasterChef Box Challenge, where they were charged with making a dish that demonstrated the balance between affordability, health, and taste in everyday meals.
Congratulations to Clarissa for clinching the victory with her mouthwatering creation of fried rice with a fried egg!
