Twelve years of schooling is worthy of some time to celebrate with parents, staff, and fellow students. It is also worthy of reflection on future hopes and aspirations. The annual Year 12 Celebration Evening held on Thursday 22 October was a special time for this year's graduating students. The evening highlighted individual personalities and achievements.
Mrs Eva Muilenburg, a former student, gave encouragement and Mr Paul Beacham spoke to the students about the importance of perseverance. Both speakers emphasised that despite the many difficulties we may face in life, we can overcome by pushing through and refusing to give up. Certainly, this year’s students have had some experience with this during 2020 and no doubt they will not quickly forget the year that COVID 19 hit the world as they completed their schooling.
Head girl and boy, Mackenzie Hastie and Liam Corrieri, responded to the Principals address and spoke to their cohort about stepping out of their comfort zone to experience all that life can offer. New experiences grow us, expand our horizons and provide opportunities we might not have considered. The theme for this years event was "Shine" from Matthew 5:16 "let your light shine before men in such a way they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven"
Thanks to all those involved who made this a memorable evening for our graduating students and their parents.
