Students Shine at Secondary Presentation

Found in: School News

Secondary Presentation Evening is the culmination of our school year for both students and staff.  This year was especially poignant given that just a few months ago we were all wondering if we would be able to go ahead with the event.  The highlights were our Dux presentations, and the Year 12 final roll call. The ATAR Dux award went to Eden Harrison and the VET Dux awarded to Mackenzie Hastie.  Mackenzie Hastie also gave a student response as Head Girl with Liam Corrieri also speaking to the student body and staff as Head Boy. As a school we were able to formally farewell these young people and wish them well for the future ahead. The Year 12 cohort presented Principal, Mr Paul Beacham with a Leavers Jacket which they had all signed.

Two special staff members were also recognised for twenty years of service to the school.  Recognition went to Mr David Bracegirdle, the Grounds/Maintenance Manager for the school and Mr David Pleysier, our outdoor education teacher / Camps coordinator.

Thanks go to our SCEA Board Member, Mr Don Warner who gave a keynote address in his usual down to earth, practical and humorous manner. Thanks also to our choir and band members who provided musical accompaniement to the video presentations.

Well done, not only to our Award winners but to the full student body for pushing through a difficult year and seeing it through to the end. We look forward to an amazing 2021.
