Students in years three, five, seven and nine will receive their NAPLAN results today.

Overall, the students did well. After a recent period of decline in our results, we are very happy to report that we have seen an improvement in each of the five areas (Numeracy, Reading, Writing, Spelling, and Grammar and Punctuation) across the school. Out of the 20 result areas (described above) we improved our score in 16 of them and are above national average in eight.

As the tests are held in May and for alternate year groups, we realise there are three teachers responsible in each year group, for the improvements being made. For example, our results in Year 5 reflect the hard work of their Year 3 teacher from May to December 2015, their Year 4 teacher in 2016, and their Year 5 teacher from January to May 2017.

The mark on student reports that indicates the National Average, shows where each student is in relation to this.

If you would like some help to understand your child’s results, please do not hesitate to speak with your child’s teacher.
