Personnel from Armadale Fire Station visited Southern Hills Christian College last Friday to carry out a presentation on fire safety for our year 3 class. Their arrival was a popular attraction, with the large fire truck parked outside the Pre-Primary area.
Year 3's learned about unsafe situations, personal safety and what is an appropriate response. They were allowed to climb on board to view the internal workings of the fire truck, tested out the water hoses and had some other hands-on experiences. The station manager even organized for the communications centre to put out a welcome message to the students of Southern Hills. It was a timely and relevant incursion for the year three class, and they were very excited about the visit.
