ESCC Long Service Recognition

Found in: School News

We have committed leadership for our Emergency Services Cadet Corps based here at Southern Hills. A DFES Awards Dinner was held at Optus Stadium on the 5th February at which recognition was given for service to programs across the state. Mr David Pleysier received a twenty-year service award and Mr Morris Prinsloo was awarded for ten years of service. The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the success of a long-standing cadet unit with friends, family and colleagues.

Emergency Services Cadet Corps is in its fourth year of operation at Southern Hills Christian College with a unit of 110 cadets ranging in ages from year 7 through to year 12 with a leadership of nine.

This cadet unit provides students with the opportunity for self and interpersonal skills development in a fun and safe environment. Those students who are in year 10 -12, also have the option to enrol into further training as part of their Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE). This allows the successful participants the possibility to accrue WACE points through this sought-after endorsement program.
