Emily Holland’s exploits in the water are something to behold.

Emily set a new ACC record earlier this year when she represented Southern Hills at the interschool swimming carnival. She is also winning awards for open water swimming in Western Australia.

Back in March, Emily gained a record for the 50-metre freestyle and also won Champion Girl in I Division. She then followed that up with Champion Girl in the All Stars carnival.

More recently, Emily has gained two gold medals (400m and 800m freestyle) at the State Championships which took place over the school holidays.  She also achieved four Silvers and one Bronze.

Not content to rest on these achievements, Emily competed in Carnarvon in a ‘5Km Open Water Swim’ and won the race after swimming for more than one hour!

Needless to say, she will be going to National Championships next year for the Open Water Swim Trials.

Well done Emily!  Even though Emily spends many hours training for swimming, she still comes to school with a smile and does all her work in class – just amazing!
