Each year, Southern Hills Christian College year eleven and twelve outdoor education students, take on a four-day hike on the Cape to Cape Track in the Leeuwin Naturalist National Park as a part of their practical application and assessment.
On 13 October, our 2020 group travelled by bus to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and then hiked to Mt Duckworth Campsite. Day two took them from Mt Duckworth to Margaret River Mouth and on the final day they headed on to Conto's Campsite. There was the opportunity to take surfing lessons at Margaret River Beach and participate in an afternoon snorkel at Canal rocks.
This adventure, whilst a fantastic opportunity to enjoy and explore the beautiful Leeuwin Naturalist National Park, can be challenging in its length and terrain. We are proud of our students for continuing to keep moving forward even when tired and foot sore. Times around the camp fire and of reflection on the rocks overlooking the sea were needed refreshers and overall both students and leaders declared they had a great trip filled with amazing new experiences.
