The Bushland Play program across the early years of learning, sees the children explore the natural environment in a closely managed way; being able to play, build and climb in a beautifully natural space.
This program brings many exciting events back to the classroom environment and regularly stimulates interesting topics of study that are truly child inspired. We see our students get dirty, challenge themselves and learn a lot about self-management, decision making and risks through natural play. It also forms the cornerstone of things to follow with children embracing the concepts of “Leave No Trace” and minimizing our impact on the natural environment.
Our kindergarten students enjoyed spending the day in the bushland play area on Friday 2 September. They explored with magnifying glasses, painted with natural elements, made mud, did some weaving with wool and sticks as well as the usual climbing and building activities. Our students look forward to this time outdoors and enjoying the world God created.
