Brittany Seymour is a rarity in the teaching world.
A female Design & Technology teacher is not seen very often in the world of education –and a Christian D & T teacher is a real find for us at Southern Hills Christian College.
After growing up in Albany, Western Australia, Brittany attended Bethel Christian School and Albany Baptist Church. An apprenticeship in cabinet-making saw Brittany building melamine kitchens, constructing roof trusses and enjoying life on the South Coast.
A move up to Perth to study a Bachelor of Secondary Education at Edith Cowan University in Mount Lawley is our College’s gain as Brittany begins with us in Term 3 working with David Pleysier and the workshop team.
Every new teaching and learning environment is unique and Southern Hills requires lots of energy and a high level of dedication to our students. This does not daunt Brittany though. She is well-versed in bespoke environments, having worked in a custom-built furniture firm for a year in Wangara.
When she is not in the W2 shed at school, Brittany can be found playing soccer for Wanneroo in the North Metro league or playing guitar in her spare time.
Brittany also attends Global Heart Church in Joondalup and has spent twelve months working and travelling in Vancouver, Canada as part of her educational training.
We wish Brittany all the best as she begins her time at Southern Hills!
