There has been a labour of love going on in the background of Southern Hills normal activities. Our principal Mr Paul Beacham and property manager Mr David Bracegirdle have been quietly bringing to life our latest addition to the Southern Hills campus.

A 1950 Fordson tractor, “Big Red” has undergone a long journey from a farm in the Great Southern to his new location here in the Primary playground of Southern Hills Christian College. It has taken time and effort to turn this farm field relic into a loved piece of play equipment for children who live in suburbia, but it has been worth it.

Big Red, in original mint condition, would have been painted a traditional bright blue but it was felt that a vibrant and joyful red would be a hit with the children.

Thanks go to all those who assisted with this project but in particular Mr Beacham and Mr Bracegirdle.
