Bedfordale Bush Markets to Have Classic Rides on Show This Weekend

Bedfordale is set to become a car-lover’s heaven this weekend.

From hot rods to pick-up trucks and Mustangs to Ford Anglias, there’s something for every car afficionado to lay eyes on in between perusing the stalls at the Bedfordale Bush Markets.

Bush Markets stall manager Katherine Jolley said they were predicting around 50 or 60 classic cars to roll up to their first car show – but there might be even more than that.

“It’s something different up in Bedfordale, and car shows are always fun,” Mrs Jolley said.

The money raised from the $5 entry for each vintage car will go to the local fire brigade.

Mrs Jolley has been volunteering with the Bush Markets group for the last 18 months, and said they were a great opportunity for the community to get together.

“It’s funny, because I started doing the markets by having a stall with my girlfriend, because I live down the road and I didn’t know anyone.

“It’s good being able to meet all your neighbours and connect with each other, and gives us an option to do something in our own back yard,” she said.

“We support all the local community groups up here – the firies run the barbecue, the playgroup do the kids’ activities, the wildlife society of Bungendore Park do free wildlife walks. So it’s all about sort of helping each other out.”

The 45 market stalls coming to the next Bush Markets will be selling plants, art, food and more, with activities for kids and a band entertaining.

The Bedfordale Bush Markets are happening this Saturday, May 27, from 8am to 1pm.
