Bake Sale

Found in: School News

Our year five students have been learning about poverty and thinking of what they can do to create awareness within the community.

After discovering how many people live below the poverty line in Australia, the class decided to hold a Bake Sale to raise funds for the homeless and less privileged at Christmas.

Students created advertising to raise awareness,  carried out market research to find out what would sell best on the day and baked, packaged and sold their yummy treats.

The year five students were astounded with the support and donations received at their Bake Sale. A total of $767.35 was raised!

Thank you to everyone for supporting the year five students in their effort to raise awareness of poverty.

The funds raised will be donated to Manna, an organisation that feeds the homeless.
