The selection of staff at our college is one of the most important processes we undertake.  It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Mrs Jay Enright, Mr Joel Vallance, Mrs Chen Wang and Mrs Erna Vermaak.

Mrs Jay Enright...

Joins Southern Hills Christian College with eleven years teaching experience across the early years. She has recently been supplying relief in the local area and in her previous teaching positions Jay has been mathematics, literacy and sports co-ordinator. She also has a keen interest in early years science and outdoor learning.  Her aims are to inspire and encourage children to become independent thinkers and to have inquiring minds.

Outside of school Jay enjoys family time, and with two young sons and an energetic husband, this usually results in a hike or a bike ride. As a family they attend Saint Aidan’s Anglican Church in Byford.

Mr Joel Vallance...

Comes to Southern Hills Christian College with two and a half years teaching experience.  He was responsible for the music program including the choir, drum corps and chapel band.

Joel has also taught Christian living, health, and society and environment. Prior to this he had been an instrumental tutor in brass at a number of Perth independent schools.

Outside of school time Joel enjoys spending time with his wife Leah and 12 month old daughter Lilly.

Joel is an enthusiastic and passionate teacher who enjoys working with students and showing them that everyone has musical potential.

Mrs Chen Wang...

Is a teacher committed to creating a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of students.

Before joining South Hill Christian College, she previously worked in a similar role as a teacher. She integrates her ICT skills into her daily teaching routines. She also has experience in developing curriculum.

Outside of school, she is usually found walking her naughty dog Coco with her husband.

Mrs Erna Vermaak...

Has six years of teaching experience. She believes that, students are inquisitive and should be encouraged to actively participate in lessons. A positive attitude is the core of her teaching style and that it is paramount that students enjoy their experience in the classroom.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, in nature and reading.

The college administration have been recruiting staff over the last term and continue to seek the highest standard of teacher to suit the needs of the students in the college.
