2016 Homework Policy and Guidelines

Found in: News

Homework is an important part of student learning.  In the primary years it is used to reinforce spelling, grammar, mental mathematics and number facts such as times tables.

In early years the repetitive drill of sight words, spelling words, tables and chants enable the classroom teacher to focus on the teaching or consolidation of new learning concepts.

For middle and secondary students, homework will adapt to include students being introduced to new concepts in preparation for classroom discussions and activities that teach new concepts or ideas.
