PANDA PICNIC UNITES CHINESE LANGUAGE STUDENTS FROM ACROSS SCHOOLS

Found in: School News

On Tuesday 12th June, our Year 5 students attended the Annual “Panda’s Picnic” at the South Perth Community Hall.

It was an opportunity for our students (who study Chinese with Mr Sandlund) to mix with students from other schools who also study Chinese.

Chinese is the most commonly spoken language in the world today, and many of us would be aware of the fabulous food and culture that the Chinese nation is famous for.

There were a number of Chinese cultural activities for the students to enjoy and it was a wonderful occasion for the teachers and students who attended on behalf of Southern Hills.

“It was a great chance for us to use the Chinese language we have learnt in the classroom to communicate with others in a meaningful way” said Year 5 student Faith, “and the food was great, too!”
