Mr Withnell's Hills Heartbeat Festival

The Hills Heartbeat Festival was once again a huge success due to the wonderful support of our college families and wider community.

The event also marked the recognition of Ron Withnell's service at Southern Hills Christian College.  Mr Withnell is retiring at the end of term two and was formally recognised by the Hon. Tony Simpson, MLA, in his role as Minister for Community Services.

Mr Withnell has spent almost three decades as part of college staff and was the brain-child of Camp Withnell abseiling and high-ropes and the Hills Heartbeat Festival.

Over 2000 people toured through the school throughout the day with families and visitors enjoying a range of carnival, community and outdoor activities.

A number of school families sourced or donated items to a silent auction with proceeds going to the year eleven and twelve Philippines mission trip in term four.
