Thursday 11 June 2015 was the Southern Hills Christian College Farm Day for pre-primary students.
During this term, the pre-primary students have been discussing different aspects of farm life. Some of the things they have been learning about are different types of farm produce and the role of the farmer.
On 'The Farm Day', students had great fun coming to school dressed as farmers. They tasted farm produce and relished a cooked breakfast of eggs and bacon, butter and jam on toast, and a glass of milk or apple juice.
Activities throughout the day were farm related. They included children sharing their farm animal reports, 'milking' a pretend cow, playing with 'pigs in mud', and creating their own farm animal biscuits. The highlight of their day was the tractor hay ride around the school grounds.
The day was a great learning experience for our pre-primary farmers.
